CASE Ocean School

Code of Conduct

The following Code of Conduct is a guide for students’ behaviour while on the CASE Ocean School International Study Program. While general in nature, it does contain specific rules and advice.

By joining the CASE Ocean School Program, students and parents acknowledge their acceptance of this Code of Conduct, including but not limited to:

  • Students and parents must abide by this Code of Conduct.
  • Students must attend and actively participate and follow the program’s daily itinerary
  • Students should maintain and demonstrate good hygiene standards.
  • For water activities, each student must have appropriate swimwear. For girls, a one-piece costume is mandatory (or a two-piece that covers their torso). Boys must wear swim shorts. It is recommended that all students wear a UV protection shirt or suit.
  • Students should demonstrate a proper attitude while participating in the program.
  • Students must not travel within the local area alone, or with other students.
  • Possession or use of illicit drugs, cigarettes, vaping devices, or alcohol is forbidden.
  • Students must not commit any criminal offense.
  • Access to improper websites or display of improper material is strictly forbidden.
  • Students must not injure/assault, threaten to injure/assault another student in the program or any other person.
  • Students must not take or use without permission any of the personal belongings owned by other students in the program.
  • Students must always follow instructions given to them by Actura Staff, CASE Staff or Program Instructors regarding water safety, inclusive of personal flotation device wear/use and swimming between the flags or in assigned locations.
  • Students must not persistently interrupt or delay the implementation of the program.
  • Students must not drive or travel on a motorbike or hitch-hike.
  • Students are not permitted to use the hotel gym and hotel pool facilities at any time.
  • The Group Manager must approve all activities outside of the scheduled activities.
  • Students must not go out after dinner unless accompanied by Group Manager, Accompanying Teacher or Supporting Staff, or unless prior written consent
  • Students must not party in the hotel rooms, visit nightclubs or licensed bars of any kind.
  • Students must not leave their own room at night without the Group Manager’s permission.
  • Mobile phones must not be used during activities other than for photo taking. Phones must be switched to silent mode prior to the nightly room check & should not be used until the following morning, other than an emergency.

Failure to adhere to the above rules may result in a student being asked to leave the program or sent home at the earliest convenience with costs incurred to the parents’ account.
